Goondiwindi men are invited for a barbecue, beers and a catch up about the challenges country blokes face at an 'Are You Bogged Mate?' evening on Friday, August 21.
Hosted by the Macintyre Ag Alliance (MAA) in collaboration with Tie Up the Black Dog, the event will feature nationally renowned guest speaker Mary O'Brien from Are You Bogged Mate?.
MAA president, Dave Woods, said the afternoon would be a good chance for men in the district to get together and talk about how to navigate through drought and other tough times.
"Mary O'Brien is a passionate advocate for agriculture and is gaining huge traction among rural men with her unique ability to translate into terms men clearly understand," Dave said.
"Mary has spent her life travelling the country giving spray application workshops to grain growers, and she has developed a phenomenal way of translating challenging concepts that men can far better understand. It's a big part of what has largely been missing until now," he said.
"If you're losing traction, or trying to pull out a mate who's stuck in the mud, you can't afford to miss hearing Mary's perspective."
Goondiwindi women will also get a chance to hear from Mary that morning, at a Tie Up The Black Dog ladies' morning tea at Billa Billa Hall at 10am.
The blokes meet will be held from 5-8pm on August 21 at Border Fabrication and Engineering in Goondiwindi.
RSVP is strictly required due to COVID-19. Email email@example.com by Wednesday, August 19.
