There's a new cafe in town and it's "Sweetaz Bro".

Gundy's new dessert bar will satisfy every sweet tooth and coffee lover's cravings.

Many would recognise New Zealand-born Alisha Mullineaux from local markets but she has decided to take the risk and give her sweet dreams a chance.

And a brave move it is considering the times. "No time's a good time," she said. "If you don't give it a go, you'll never know. The community support has been amazing and I am really grateful."

Alisha has fond memories of baking with her Mum as a little girl and she plans to introduce some of those Kiwi childhood favourites to the shop over time.

Although chef trained, Alisha has a background in sales and finance. She's also made the move to the country from Sydney with her local partner, Derek Milligean.

She wanted to offer something new to Goondiwindi. "We wanted to create a great ambiance with the warm fires."

You can view the menu and opening hours on the Sweetaz Bro Facebook page.
