Maranoa MP, David Littleproud, has urged schools to apply for funding.

New equipment, building or support projects are on the cards for Maranoa schools with the Federal Government making up to $200,000 available to benefit local kids' learning experiences Maranoa MP David Littleproud announced today.

"The Local Schools Community Fund will offer a series of grants ranging between $1000 and $20,000 to contribute to a variety of school projects or associated costs across Maranoa," Mr Littleproud said.

"This is great news for students across Maranoa because it enables access to new learning experiences no matter which school you go to or how remotely you live.

"Remote schools in the region could even use the money toward excursions.

"Other project examples could include small-scale extensions or classroom refurbishments, new computer facilities, mental health and counselling services, playground equipment, library resources, or sports facilities.

"I encourage all Government, Independent and Catholic schools to have a think about how they could use this grant money and apply.

"Schools may lodge one application for each of their campuses, so it's important that the project identified delivers a real benefit for their local school community."

Schools may submit one application for up to $20,000 funding for each of their campuses.

Applications will be subject to conditions and proposed projects will be assessed by a committee appointed by Mr Littleproud.

The Federal Government announced the $30.2 million Local Schools Community Fund in the 2019 Budget.

Applications will be made through SchoolsHUB - https://schools.education.gov.au/.

Applications open 25 July 2019, close 30 September 2019 and projects must be completed by the end of 2020.
