The Emus played their last home fixture for the season, grinding out two hard-earned wins over the USQ Saints. The Ladies' 7s got Sponsors day off to a nice start, downing Warwick, 10-0. Despite their impressive start, The Ladies then went down to a slick Dalby outfit and strong USQ side. B Grade hit the paddock in their must win clash vs the Students, and took some time to find their rhythm. After a tight battle the Emus came out victorious 29-19, helping Harry Webster celebrate his 100th game in the Goondiwindi strip. Webster led his pack around while veteran Terry Gleeson steered a young backline around, boosted by the return of Nick Smith. A Grade began with a bang.The Emus peppered USQ's line early with tries to Tom Jobling and Yoni Meron. The Emus added to their score with a try to newcomer George Perry. Will Gilbert rounded out the game with a try as well as several penalties and convertions. The Emus running out 31-6 winners. A and C Grade currently hold onto first position while B Grade sit in 4th place.
