Toomelah celebrated their first ever, community hosted NAIDOC Week event on Tuesday. Generations came together for the flag raising ceremony and Welcome to Country followed by performances from local children and Uncle Roger Knox. There were activity stations including painting, building blocks, bracelet making and more. Everyone enjoyed morning tea and later curries and a barbecue for lunch. The Elders enjoyed the day out and listening to Knox when the sun finally came out. There were also visitors from out-of-town community groups who helped entertain local children. It was an "enjoyable" day for all.
