If you are from Goondiwindi, it doesn't matter whether you're a Maroon or Blue, we will all be cheering for home-town boy Ethan Lowe.
That is if Queensland Coach Kevie Walters gives the Boar-hearted forward the nod. As the Argus went to press yesterday, he was still playing his cards close to his chest. Our only message, "C'mon Kevie, give Ethan a run! You won't be sorry."
Ethan was "home" last week passing on his knowledge and giving back to some young Boars. Mind you, "nan's" roast was pretty high on the agenda as well. He was then called into the Maroon's camp.
And then Queensland backrower Matt Gillett suffered a groin injury and was ruled out of Origin Three. Walters was coy about who would play. Fronting the media yesterday morning, he said, "Now that he's (Gillett) officially been ruled out we'll make some decision around that in the next 24 hours. As I said before if he wasn't playing we had some players ready and more than capable of putting their hand up and doing the job." We'll keep our fingers crossed Ethan.
