Mervyn Moriarty to host artist talk and masterclass in Texas Art Gallery

The Texas Art Gallery is currently hosting a retrospective on Mervyn Moriarty's work, with a particular focus on the years he spent in the north west region.

Known for his years touring the north west as the founder of a Flying Art School, artist and educator Mervyn Moriarty has touched down at the Texas Regional Art Gallery. The exhibition is on show until Friday, March 1. Mervyn is giving an artist’s talk at the gallery from 1pm on Saturday, February 23. A free event, light lunch will be provided.

The following day budding artists can learn about colour relationships at a masterclass. Participants will explore the link between colour mixing and colour relationship using their own works as a reference. Artists will be guided in this workshop to release the full potential in their subject. In the field or still life, how to begin making clear decisions about colour and hue, seeking the perfect balance between seeing everything that is there and selecting only what you want to use.
