Registrations for Drive to Cure MND will go on sale on Monday, and this year the team is travelling to Goondiwindi for their annual fundraiser.
Drive to Cure MND 2019 will involve 200 people in cars, trucks, motorhomes and on motorbikes travelling from Brisbane to Goondiwindi over the May Day weekend raising awareness and funds to find a cure for MND.
Participants will depart Brisbane and enjoy lunch and a mixed farming and Landcare tour at Millmerran before dinner and trivia at the Queensland Hotel.
The weekend will involve day tours of the region.
The Inglewood tour will visit a cattle property outside Yerlabon and then on to Coolmunda Olives and Leven K Lavender Farm.
Others will visit the Texas rabbit factory and Goat Rock for lunch, plus Barambah dairy farm.
Some may choose the Goondiwindi Cotton tour of local farms.
On Saturday night visitors will enjoy the local show and on Sunday night there will be barefoot bowls and a barbecue which will include presentations and raffles.
On their way home the fund-raisers will also have the option to participate in a tour at Carpendale Farm.
A team from the MND and Me Foundation visited Gundy a few weeks ago for a test drive and to experience some of the activities planned for the main event.
“It was great to be on the ground and experience what the great town of Goondiwindi has in store for us all,” the team said.
“The Goondiwindi Regional Council, Goondiwindi Show Society and all the businesses we visited, welcomed us with open arms and can’t wait to show off their love of their town.”
