Naturally, when the Melbourne Cup comes around, the town can’t help but stop to watch along with the rest of the nation. This year was no exception with lots of celebration and high class cheer.
Everyone got in the spirit from office sweep stakes and crazy hats to the Royal Hotel’s 2nd Flemington Fling, held in conjunction with the Royal Botanical Gardens. There was food, drink, fashion and screens showing Cross Counter winning the greatest race ever. Glass champagne on arrival, sweeps, raffles and people dressed to impress.
An after-party followed at the Royal Hotel with more drinks, celebrations, and fashions galore.
At the Queensland Hotel, people enjoyed the Melbourne Cup specials menu and tuned into the fab race on the big screen.
