Below-strength Goondwindi humbled by Willowburn

Having had a bye last weekend, the soccer Roos travelled to Toowoomba to take on top of the ladder Willowburn.
Having beat them 3-2 at home, the team were confident going into the game. Due to injuries they travelled with four junior players in their ranks - Ryan Chick, Daniel Gore and Jack Gilbert had featured already this season and Jimmy Wilkie making his debut.
The game was no more than 5 minutes old when Willowburn struck first.
A miscommunication between defence and goalkeeper saw them take a 1-0. After that, it got worse - two quick fire goals from a Willowburn team in full swing ensured it was going to be a long day for the Goondiwindi boys.
Some good work between Matt Gore and Adam Todd gave encouragement to Goondiwindi but they were unable to score - Willowburn punishing them and taking a 5-0 half time lead.
The half time team talk was all about ensuring the team took some pride back home and that they did, Adam Todd finishing a well worked move with a tidy finish. The opposition however moved up a gear, the final score ending 7-1.
