Goondiwindi to host information session to help dorught-stricken farmers

Help is at hand.

“During the dry, North West Local Land Services and the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries can give you advice to support your farming business,” Senior Land Services Officer, Pippa Jones said.

The two groups are holding a cross-border drought support and information session in Goondiwindi  on Wednesday, June 20 from 10am - 12 noon at the Goondiwindi Regional Library.

“ Invite a friend or neighbour to come along for a cuppa and ask us abou what asistance is available.

Topics include: Drought feeding and stock management; Animal health and nutrition; Management of pastures and stubbles; Drought assistance available (NSW & QLD); Provide advice on feed test results; Provide subsided testing on water and feed samples; Advice on invasive species; Mixed farming and cropping considerations for winter / summer planting; Weed and natural resource management.
