Susie Fin bases latest book on Goondiwindi experiences

The newest book from children’s author Susie Fin will touch on her fond memories of Goondiwindi.

Mister Misty is described as ‘a magical, muddled tale’ of the adventures of Ms Fin’s silver tabby kitten, and comes from stories she collected while living and working on a Goondiwindi property.

Born and bred in country Queensland, Ms Fin is a passionate educator, and after over 30 years’ experience predominantly in early childhood, she has also recently branched out into primary and adult education.

She has a love of language and lifelong learning and says she finds inspiration in nature and all things good. Ms Fin endeavours to surround herself with like-minded people who share her passions.

Ms Fin’s children and adult books are illustrated with her own photos, and printed in Toowoomba with the support of graphic artist, Kathryn O’Leary.

Hamish Holcombe, a close friend from Ms Fin’s Goondiwindi days, adds an inspiring poem to each book; while young Toowoomba artist Jie Stewart, illustrates a page in each of her children’s stories.

The Nook Bookshop will host the release of Mister Misty at 10am on April 7. Ms Fin will be on site to meet book lovers and sign their copies of the tale.

She will also be sign books at 10am on April 14 at The Book Tree in Toowoomba.
