Mac Valley cotton ‘family’ celebrates
The cotton industry turned out in force on Friday to celebrate the growers and all those who help make the industry one of the foundations of the region’s future.
Macintyre Valley Field Day President Rob Austen was more than optimistic about cotton’s future due to the efforts of many of the Macintyre Valley “family”.
The major award winners:
Service to the Industry – Miles McColl, Total Ag, Patricia Coulton Award – Roslyn Tribe, Chesterfield, Young Achiever – Helen Rose, McGregor Gourlay, Farm of the Year – Brett Corish, Corish Farms (Mundine).
Irrigated: 1st – Thomas Popp, RMI, “Carrington”, 2nd – Glen Smith, Evolution Farming, “Koarlo”, 3rd – Jason Keoller, Lombard Farms, “Sylvan Plains”.
Dryland: 1st – Sam Dight, “Holdfast”, 2nd – Bob Baker, “Doonkami”, 3rd – Rowan Wood, “Thurlagoona”.
