Spotlight: The campaign is raising awareness of rural poverty.

It is Anti-Poverty Week across Australia when thousands of people will be working to raise awareness of how the experience of poverty affects the wellbeing of not just individuals or families but the whole community.

Research shows people at highest risk of poverty generally live in rural and remote areas. 

“Poverty” describes the situation where people in a particular society cannot afford the essentials that most people in that society take for granted.
