Goondiwindi riders rise to challenge at Pony Club National titles

Five Goondiwindi Pony Club members have shown off their horse-riding talents at the Pony Club Australia National Championships.

They were Thomas and Sarah Coggan, Gabby Cahill, Yasmin Lambert and Maddy Shaw.

The championships seeks to promote the highest level of sportsmanship among pony club riders aged 10-25 years of age.

Disciplines include Dressage, Show jumping, Eventing, Tetrathlon, Games and the Formal Gymkhana. This year the event was hosted by Queensland from September 18-22 at the Toowoomba Showgrounds.

Thomas Coggan competed in both the senior eventing and tetrathlon teams, whilet his sister Sarah Coggan was selected for the junior dressage team. Tom had a great week placing fifth overall in the eventing and seventh in the tetrathlon. Sarah came eighth overall in the junior dressage.

Gabby Cahill was selected for the junior formal gymkhana team and both Yasmin Lambert and Maddy Shaw were selected for the sub-junior formal gymkhana team.
