What a golf week - $3000 and a hole-in-one!

SUNDAY was Legacy Day which was a three- man Ambrose with 69 players  and the winners were Mark and Joel Stahlhut and Lachlan Manton with 57 2/3 nett.

 Runners-up were   David Raymond, Brian Smith and Scott Jackson with 58 ½ and third place went to John and Stephen Toohey and Paul Lynch with 58 2/3.

Thanks to John Toohey and his  fellow workers for organising the day and especially the sponsors and golfers who made the day possible and helped to raise approx $3000 toward a very worthy cause, Legacy.

The club is hoping to crack the hundred mark next year and make it a even more successful day.

Saturday for the men was a single stableford with 48 players and the winner was James Cruickshank with 42pts, the runner-up was Scott Jackson with 39pts. 

NTP on the 10th was  David Raymond (6.14m) 15th was Leon Wise (3.71m), Pro Pin 18th was Matt Tonkin (3.11m). The ball comp went down to 37pts.

 Congratulations to Don McKenzie  for his hole-in-one on the on the 6th  which he will receive a $100 gift voucher from  sponsor Mackenzies Home Timber and Hardware.

Saturday for the ladies was a single stableford and the winner was Dale Minchinton with 41pts. Balls went to Fay Duffield, Joan Burt and Helen Heath. NTP on 10th hole 2nd shot was Dale Minchinton, NTP on the 18th hole 2nd shot was Sue Tribe.

Chook Run on Friday had a field of 50 players and the winner was Mick Wadwell with 31pts. Runner up was Rod Gibson with  30pts.  A grade NTP was Peter Cook and B Grade NTP was Lawrence Martyn. 

The Red Rooster winner was M Makim.

Thursday Sporters’ Comp was washed out except for eight hearty players who played a comp between themselves.

Thursday for the ladies was washed out because of the rain.

Wednesday Veterans Competition had 23 players  and the winners were John Byrne and Brian Gilbert with 26pts.  Runners Up were Paul Cleary and Gary Murphy with with 25pts. A grade NTP on the 1st hole 2nd shot was Ron Harris (.53cm) B Grade NTP 1st hole 3rd shot was Daryl Murphy (.25cm). A Grade NTP 6th hole 2nd shot was Ant Wood (1.50m) B Grade NTP 6th  hole 2nd shot was Jeff Thatcher (6.50m).

Thankyou to Mackenzie’s Home Timber & Hardware who are sponsoring the “Hole in One” for our competitions and donating a $100 gift voucher for a “hole in one” in any competition.

Coming events:   Thursday 18th Oct for the ladies day is Pink Day which is a 10 hole, three person Ambrose, so bring a friend and put your name down in the ladies room. Saturday, Oct 20 is an 18 hole Stableford , Pink and Blue day for Prostate & Breast Cancer. Prizes for the best dressed Man, Woman and Cart. Saturday 27th is Mitre 10 day which is a three man Ambrose with sandwiches lunch from 11.00 and 12.30pm Shoot Gun start.

REMINDER: THIS FRIDAY NIGHT, THE 19TH, FROM 6PM IS THE CAULFIELD CUP SWEEP AND CALCUTTA MEMBERS and GUESTS ARE  ALL WELCOME .

   Ladies golf time for Thursday and Saturday will change to 8.30am start from Thursday October 4.
