Get set, the Amazing Race is on Saturday

It all gets underway at 12pm  at Gilbert Oval.

Indigenous Community Sport and Recreation Program Officer, Sarah Ellis from the Goondiwindi PCYC, is involved with the PaCE Committee.

She said the Goondiwindi Amazing Race Community Challenge is a great opportunity to bring Indigenous and non-Indigenous families from Goondiwindi, Texas, Boggabilla and Toomelah together.

“The project aims to raise awareness and understanding of local Indigenous culture and history through an activity-based day of fun, learning and entertainment,” she said.

If you haven’t registered a team, talk to your family and friends.

Online nomination forms are at http://lfbs.com.au/pace-project/ with limited team places; make sure you don’t miss out.

Transport will be available for people coming from Boggabilla and Toomelah so that you can get into Goondiwindi for the event, and home again at the end of the night.

Of course this wouldn’t be possible without the effort of many people, and sponsorship and support from local businesses.

“Westpac is proud to support the Goondiwindi Amazing Race as it engages people from across the region in a challenging day of fun and excitement,” said Scott Marsh, Bank Manager Goondiwindi Westpac.

“I hope our community as a whole gets behind this event and makes it a huge success.”
