Inglewood shooters

17 Feb, 2010 11:53 AM
WELL I am back in the saddle, they even put my name on the blurb last week when I did not write it, I kind reckon it was the president... can’t be sure.

Wasn’t a great deal of shooting done Sunday, due to the committtee meeting, monthly meeting, firearm safety course and range officer discussions. However, some of the shooters did have a crack at clays. A 50 clay event was held and the winner was a visitor from Gosford.

1st Richard Roese

2nd Tom Donald

3rd Ray Gavan was visiting from Warwick.

Ray is a keen sporting clay shooter and wants to help with the layout of our sporting clay field. hopefully Ray will become a part of out team of dedicated shooters.

Thanks to Ray Dudgeon and Bill Wilson for button pushing and scoring on the day.

After the 50 clay event a bit of a muck about shoot was conducted until the trap spring broke, luckily we have a couple of spares.

A bit of work was done on the single action range, the president has gotten over his ruptured disc and spread some pellets about and brought down the chuck wagon to the range.

Next weekend is a big working bee Saturday and Sunday, I am sure the die hard members would appreciate anyone turning up to assist.

A draft program for the rest of the year has been formulated. At this time we have not nutted out what pistol events will be conducted or rifle until the benchrest area has been constructed. The club is hosting the Zone 2 Muzzle Loading Championships in October.

It was decided that events can commence at 9.00 a.m.

To date subject to fine tuning, excepting when hosting championships etc, the rest of the years calender will be:

1st Sunday

9.00 am DTL Clays

Pistol all day.

Rifle all day.

2nd Sunday

9.00 DTL Clays

9.30 Firearm Safety Course.

12.00 Monthly meeting.

Pistol all day.

Rifle all day.

3rd Sunday

9.00 am Sporting Clays

Pistol all day.

Rifle all day.

4th Sunday

9.00 am Muzzle Loading Seneca Run

Pistol all day.

Rifle all day.

11.00 am Single Action.

We do need members to take charge of the rfile and pistol events and formulate a calender.

Well good to be back on the trail, see you next weekend.
