Terry Rose had one of his best scores for quite a while to win the Queensland Hotel Monthly Mug at the Goondiwindi Golf Course on Saturday.

Terry’s 66 nett was ahead of his nearest rival Ian Brennan with a creditable 69 nett.

Nearest the pins: 10th: Greg Warden (9m); 15th: Tony Lloyd (6m); 18th: Darryl Murphy (86cm – 9 balls).

The ball comp went down to 74 on a countback and winners were: Ian Brennan, Sam Coulton, Greg Driver, David Edwards, Gerard O’Connor, Terry Rose, Gary Smith and Graham Smith.

Sunday’s 18 hole stableford was won by Tony Cox with the modest score of 35 points on a countback from Pablo Vega

Nearest the pins: 10th: Skinner; 15th: Graham Smith (2.76m); 18th: Kevin Sewell (3.66m).

Ball comp went down to 32 on a countback and winners were: Matthew Chapman, Tony Cox, Ron Harris, Don McKenzie, Stephen Rohde and Pablo Vega.

Wednesday’s Veterans was won by Albert McShane and John Stehr with21 points on a countback from Tom and Kerry Biggers also on 21.

Nearest the pins: 1st hole, 2nd shot A: Richard Siddins (9m); 1st hole 3rd shot B: David Jackson (2.3m); 15th hole, 2nd shot A: Malcolm Webster (23cm); 15th hole, 2nd shot B: Malcolm Pegler (58cm).

Thursday’s Sporters was won by Graham Smith with 26 points.

Runner-up was Peter Smith with 24.

Ball comp: Jade Hurley, Jeff Thatcher, Dudley Gilbert, John Toohey, Greg Warden, Darryl Murphy, Rod Ginson, Paul Lynch and Dom Cherry.

Nearest the pins: Pro Pin: Dom Cherry (5.4m); A Grade: Paul Lynch (3m); B Grade: Darryl Murphy (in the hole).

Friday’s Chook Run attracted a big field and winners were: Marcus Arthur 28, Tony Lloyd 26, Kev Sewell 25, Keith Lloyd 25, Steve Baldwin 25, John Stehr 24, J. Schultze 24, Ron Harris 23, Deidre Harris 23, Andrew Glasson 23, Rick Woodward 23, Graeme Garvis 22 and Malcolm Webster 22.

Nearest the pins: A Grade: Kev Sewell; B Grade: Andrew Glasson.
