James Cruickshank had one of his best ever rounds on Saturday at the Goondiwindi Golf Course when he recorded 45 stableford points to take the honours.

Runner-up was an unlucky Hugh McKinnon, who also had one of his best rounds to be one behind on 44.

Nearest the pins: 10th: Darryl Murphy (10.02m); 15th: Don McKenzie (2.85m); 18th: Greg Warden (4.14m – 11 balls).

The ball comp went down to 37 on a countback and winners were: Sam Coulton, Rick Woodward, Gary Smith, Robert Webb, Hugh McKinnon, Hugh Hamilton, Don McKenzie, James Cruickshank, Stephen Rohde, Barry Lowe and Darryl Murphy.

Sunday’s Four-person Ambrose was won in fine style by David Wright, Paul Ashby, David Raymond and Kev Sewell with 53 5/8.

Runners-up were Jamie Quinnell, Brett Strachan, Jason Quinnell and Perry Magann with 57 3/8.

Ball comp: D. Wright, P. Ashby, D. Raymond, K. Sewell, J. Quinnell, J. Quinnell, B. Strachan and P. Magann.

Nearest the pins: 10th: David Raymond (6.18m); 15th: Kev Sewell (1.33m); Pro Pin: Kev Sewell (and the Super Pin 74cm – 7 balls and $398.50. A tidy pick-up).

A big field took part in Thursday’s Sporters and David Raymond was the winner with 25 points.

Runner-up was Greg Warden with 23 points.

Ball comp: J. Hurley, R. Siddins, S. Rohde, B. Lowe, M. Everingham, R. Glasson, J. McCall, N. Kratzke and P. Cook.

Nearest the pins: Pro Pin: P. Cook (3.62m); A Grade: E. Donnarlmma from Gailes (88cm); B Grade: S. Rohde (52cm).

Wednesday’s Vets comp attracted a good field also and winners were Tom and Kerry Biggers with 27 points.

Runners-up were Alison and Richard Siddins with 26.

Nearest the pins: 1st hole 2nd shot A: Richard Siddins (3.3m); 1st hole, 2nd shot B: Tony Ecroyd (20cm); 6th hole, 2nd shot A: Bruce Germon (60cm); 6th hole, 2nd shot B: Marcus Arthur (18cm).

Friday’s Chook Run winners were: H. McKinnon 27, J. Castle, M. Arthur, M. Saleem, K. Montgomery all 24; M. Webster, S. Coulton, D. Heath, G. Buckley and D. Cherry all 23.

Nearest the pins: A Grade: M. Webster; B Grade: M. Arthur.

The chipping clinic for the ladies held by Pro David Wright was a big success and the ladies found out some helpful hints to help their game.
