The run of big scores continued on the weekend at the Goondiwindi Golf Course.
Saturday’s game was a 4BBB stableford which was won by Rod and Tim Gibson with the great score of 48 points.
Runners-up were Alan Jones and Pablo Vega on 47.
There were plenty of other scores close to this total as well.
Nearest the pins: 10th: Don McKenzie (3.98m); 15th: Neil Linton (2.85m); 18th: Malcolm Doolin (1.19m – 13 balls).
The ball comp went down to 44 points and winners were: Alan Jones and Pablo Vega, Rick Woodward and Alan Carter, Robert Webb and Ian Brennan, Don McKenzie and Mark Everingham; Marty Lynch and Tony Lloyd and Rod and Tim Gibson.
Sunday’s 18 hole single stableford was won by Craig Spicer with the phenomenal score of 48 points.
Craig stormed home with 27 points on the back nine.
Unlucky runner-up was Kev Sewell with a great round of 2 under par (69) to give him a score of 42 points.
Nearest the pins: 10th: Barry Becroft (2.72m); 15th: Craig Spicer (1.38m); 18th: Mark Cleary (2.8m).
The ball comp went down to 37 on a countback and winners were: Scott Thornton, Craig Spicer, David Jackson, Craig Hobday, Robert Webb, Kev Sewell and Peter Cook.
Wednesday’s Vets went to the two old burglars Robert Cairns and John Byrne with plus three.
They had to survive a countback from Tom Gibson and Paul Cleary, also on plus three.

Thursday’s Sporters is still powering on with good fields and the winner this week was Paul Algie with 24 points.
Runner-up was Mark Everingham with 23.

Friday’s Chook Run winners were: Jeff Thatcher 28, David Webster 27, J. Schultze 25, Ant Wood 24, John Stehr 23, Ron Boland, Pablo Vega, Brian Smith, Bryan Meenin and Ben McCosker, all 23.
Nearest the pins: A Grade: Greg Warden; B Grade: Col Rae.
