Goondiwindi Under 12s rep cricket team remains undefeated after bowling Warwick out for 115 on the weekend. Their final score was 7 for 149.
Batting highlights included Evann Tyter (29 off 50), Stuart Ford (24no off 50) and Sam Finlayson (16 off 50). Sam Turvey also dug in his heels and made 6n.o. off 50 overs.
Bowling highlights included Nick Lahey 3-14 (from 7 overs), Evann Tyter 2-12 (from 4 overs), Ned Ladner 1-2, Rowdy Mettam 1-7, Liam McNaughton 1-7 and Emma Lahey 1-14.
Liam McNaughton took four catches and Jock Littlewood was instrumental in a run-out.
Evann Tyter was awarded Best and Fairest, followed closely by Nick Lahey and Liam McNaughton.
Under 14s
Goondiwindi 11/83 were defeated by Warwick 10/237. The boys battled hard all day and didn’t give in.
Batting highlights included Mitchell Phillips 24, Levi Wilson 23 and Tim Allport 13.
Bowling highlights - Will Gilbert 2-8 and Carl Clement 2-20 had some success with their off-spin.
Good figures also for Tom Sheridan 2-15 and James Rice 2-16 – who very nearly took a hat trick. Catches by Tim Allport, Russell Carter and Lachlan Fleming.
Best and Fairest went to Levi Wilson and the Encouragement Award went to Tom Sheridan.
