THE Border Rivers Chamber of Commerce is looking for nominations and sponsors for the inaugural 2010 Regional Business Awards.

All businesses and individual industries in the area covered by the Goondiwindi Regional Council, as well as those from Boggabilla, Boomi, North Star and Yetman in NSW, are eligible for nomination.

The awards will honour the region’s business and individual industry leaders through the acknowledgement of innovative business processes, environmental leadership, business sustainability, service and overall business success.

Chamber of Commerce President, Clive Quartermaine, said the aim was to lift the profile of the already successful businesses in town.

“We have a great business community here now, so it’s all about celebrating that.

“We also want to encourage businesses to lift the bar on how they provide services to their customers, how they train their staff and the innovations they bring to their management,” Mr Quartermaine said.

All businesses including national companies, government departments, agencies or bodies, franchisees and non-government organisations, small businesses and web-based businesses are eligible to enter.

Nominations will open in mid-2010.
