Harrison wants his ‘best mate’ back

08 Feb, 2012 12:41 PM
HAVE you seen this dog?

He’s big and handsome. He’s Harrison Finnigan’s best friend and he’s gone missing.

The Finnigan family from Yelarbon fear he’s been stolen.

Nikki left the family’s home in Yelarbon with her children Georgia (10 months) and Harrison (who’ll be two in May) on Thursday morning to take Harrison to Kindy.

“I was only gone for two hours. Usually the dog comes up and says ‘hello’ as soon as we get home, but not this time.

“At first I thought maybe he got out, but we’ve got a big Colorbond fence around the house, and he just doesn’t do that.

Nikki says the dog would never follow someone else out of the yard, “unless they were carrying a big piece of steak.”

“And if someone had opened the gate and let him out, everyone in town knows the dog and knows our family.

“They would have brought him back.”

“Our whole family loves that dog, which is why we’re offering a large reward if someone finds him,” Nikki said.

“We’ve had him for seven years, and he’s on daily medication.

“He’s very loveable and protective.”

The family have put up posters in Inglewood and Yelarbon and contacted the vets in Goondiwindi, but without success so far.

“We don’t live on the highway, so it’s not like someone drove past, saw him, grabbed him and headed off to Brisbane.

“Someone knows where he is.

“It’s breaking my little boy’s heart.”
