GOONDIWINDI shoppers can win a share of $30,000 in prizes.
All they have to do is shop locally.
This year’s 55 “Go Gundy Go” (GGG) business participants are rewarding customers for spending their money in Goondiwindi.
All participants are offering their own in-store prizes totalling around $30000.
The annual “Go Gundy Go” promotion is on again and if you would like to win a prize at participating businesses, you need to start spending.
Go Gundy Go runs from November 1 to Christmas Eve, December 24.
Border Rivers Chamber of Commerce Inc, in conjunction with the Retailers Forum sub-committee, is running the promotion in the lead up to Christmas. For every purchase shoppers make at one of the stores, they will go into the draw to win each shop’s individual prize.
Retailers’ Forum Chairman Nathan Garvie said it is extremely important for individuals and businesses both in town and on properties to buy locally.
“We have a fantastic range of businesses in Goondiwindi selling products and services that you won’t find in a lot of other towns and we want to keep them here,” he said.
“The aim of ‘Go Gundy Go’ is to encourage people to shop locally so that we can keep our money and jobs in town as well as encouraging new businesses to open.”
Go Gundy Go is also re-staging the popular Late Night Shopping evening on Thursday December 17.
Parts of Marshall St reet and Herbert Street will again be closed from traffic for families to wander and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
